ARTICLE 81
NOTICE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 81, PART 8 OF THE ABOVE REGULATIONS, RELATING TO A PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT BY DONEGAL COUNTY COUNCIL
Donegal County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out the development of improved pedestrian facilities along a section of R925 Killybegs Rd., Donegal Town in the Donegal Municipal District.
The proposed footway, measuring approximately 220m in length, will be located in the townlands of Mullans and Drumcliff and will introduce both new and improved footpaths from the R295 from the Gateway Lodge to the bridge adjacent to the Methodist Church. The new footway linkage seeks to provide a safe, high quality mobility infrastructure that is accessible, age friendly and maximise comfort to people of all ages and abilities. The project will include the reallocation of overall road space which will include widened footpaths, introduces designated pedestrian crossings to provide a safer, calmer and more attractive route to Donegal Town Centre.
In accordance with the Planning and Development Regulations, Donegal County Council, as a competent authority, has concluded from a Screening Determination, based on an examination of the type, size and nature of the proposed development that there is no likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and as such has determined that an EIA is not required, the details of which are available to the general public.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection (or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy) during normal hours from 9am Wednesday 9th August 2023 until 4pm on Thursday, 7th September 2023 (inclusive) online and at the following locations:

- Lifford Public Service Centre, County House, The Diamond, Lifford, Co. Donegal, F93 Y622
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, and clearly marked ‘Donegal Active Travel Projects – Scheme 3 – R925 Killybegs Road, Donegal Town’, may be made in writing to the County Secretariat at Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford, Co.
