NOTICE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 81 OF PART 8 OF THE ABOVE
REGULATIONS (“THE REGULATIONS”), RELATING TO A PROPOSED
DEVELOPMENT BY DONEGAL COUNTY COUNCIL
WATERWORLD REFURBISHMENT & EXTENSION PROJECT
TAKE NOTICE that Donegal County Council (“the Council”) proposes to carry out the following development scheduled below at Waterworld, Atlantic Way in the townland of Drumacrin, Bundoran, County Donegal F94 DR9V.
SCHEDULE OF PROPOSED WORK
the refurbishment and expansion internally of the existing pool changing rooms to include additional shower and toilet facilities,
the addition of a single storey new entrance / exit lobby and covered external walkway to the front (South East) elevation,
the conversion and expansion of the existing seaweed baths into retail, commercial and café/restaurant with ancillary rooms and services,
the addition of a two storey escape stair to the side (North East) elevation,
the demolition of existing oil tank enclosure and storage building to accommodate the extension of the existing external delivery access to the South West side of existing building,
the installation of a pool water holding tank to the rear of the building in accordance with EPA recommendations under Trade Effluent Licence Reference no. 12011,
the remodelling of the upstairs office area,
connection to all public services and all ancillary site works.
(a) The proposed development is sub-threshold for the purposes of Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”) per Article 92 of the Regulations and the Council has concluded on the basis of a Preliminary Examination of the nature, location and size of the proposed development in accordance with Article 120 (1)(b)(i) thereof that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and that an Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”) or an Appropriate Assessment (“AA”) is not required. A copy of this Preliminary Examination and conclusion is available for inspection or purchase along with the documents referred to at paragraph (b) below.
Where however any person considers that the proposed development to be carried out by the Council would be likely to have significant effects on the environment, he or she may at any time before the expiration of 4 weeks beginning on the date of publication of this notice apply under Article 120(3)(b) of the Regulations to An Bord Pleanála (64 Marlborough Street, Rotunda, Dublin 1, D01 V902) for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have such effects stating the reasons for forming of this view.
(b) Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection online at www.consult.ie or for purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy.
